I agree it would be futile to try to persuade MY or Cude or the other
extremists. I gave up trying to do that a decade ago.

I say these things as way to sharpen my own thought processes. To refine
the arguments. I expect that in the coming months, my audience will expand.
I have been invited to address some groups in Atlanta and Florida, for
example.

I am still learning about the attitudes of both supporters and
opponents. For example, it did not occur to me until recently that what
they fear is not that cold fusion is real, but rather than the whole world
will go crazy thinking it is real, in a kind of Tulipmania. I would feel
something similar if U.S. public schools decided to teach creationism
instead of evolution. From MY's point of view, thousands of sensible,
trained, capable people are suddenly throwing aside standards and joining
""a cult of fervent half-wits" (as Slakey called cold fusion). They think a
few scheming criminal lowlifes such as Rossi managed to con a growing
circle of people. As I said, it is like Tulipmania or the 2008 stock market
crash caused by home loan lending abuse.

If I thought something like that was happening, it would annoy me, but I
would not spend hours every week trying to stop it. I would ignore it. I
work in favor of causes I support and political candidates I support. I do
not devote effort to oppose things that I think are mistaken, or a waste of
time. If I thought that a few thousand scientists had thrown away objective
standards, and they were wasting their time, I would shrug, shake my head,
and ignore them. MY, Park and some others take it as a personal affront
that anyone would disagree with them, or dare to believe something they
think must be wrong. I do not understand this attitude.

I do not care how many people disagree with cold fusion, as long as we can
find enough powerful and wealthy supporters to bring the technology to
fruition. I have attracted 2 million visits LENR-CANR.org, made by tens of
thousands of people. They, among others, are developing the technology.
There are ~7 billion people in the world who have *not* visited. I don't
care about them. I do not care what they think. As long as they do not
interfere, it makes no difference to me.

We will need broad public support in the future, but we do not need it now.
