The broad term is synergy. In biology its the symbiont, which has its antagonist -the parasite. If one looks vertically through the 'complexity levels' of nature, one can see a repeating pattern of the same principles. It becomes complicated on higher levels, if reflection comes into play. Eg trust versus deception. On the lower levels its catalysts and structural conditions like lattices or eg graphene. Here it gets interesting, because nature itself does not create these conditions, but through the conscious scientific mind through reflection, and creating those conditions in the first place. Maybe this is a bit too philosophical, but anyway.
