Alas, no. The Prius 3G and Prius C are standard Synergy drive hybrids. No
plug-in. The Prius Plug-in is a variation on the 3G costing $32,000 and
has a claimed combined range of 95 mpg.

There is also a Prius V, a stretch version of the 3G with about an extra
foot of cargo space for and extra $2k. The standard 3G is $24,000.

53 mpg for the Prius C compares to 51 mpg for the 3G but cost considerably
less and is smaller. Point is that the Prius C is cost effective when
compared to my $18,000 xB at 30 mpg.
