It looks as though they have taken the temperature of the device of 1050 C and subtracted the room temperature of 25 C before converting into Kelvin at 1298.15, which is inserted into the radiation equation. The non linearity of the temperature effect upon the radiation makes this not accurate. The radiation from the surroundings into the device should have been calculated separately and then subtracted.
