First, I meant legit astronomy journals, not Fox News. Second, if experts conclude that three rare events occurred by coincidence I am not inclined to argue with them. I can't judge the issue but in my experience experts are usually right. I suppose it means there are more close flybys than we previously realized. We only became capable of tracking these things in the last generation. If people had been tracking them for the last 1000 years with instruments as good as we now have, perhaps we would have discovered they are more common than we now believe. As I mentioned, an astronomer recently realized that we have only accounted for craters on earth that happen to be on land. She began looking for craters in the oceans and found them. For that reason, meteor strikes on earth are a lot more common than previously estimated. Leaving the oceans out of the equation was a dumb mistake, because oceans cover 71% of the earth's surface. - Jed
