In this discussion we have lost track of the fact that you need a generator for electrolysis cold fusion. You need a flow of electricity to keep the reaction going. You do not need that with gas loading.
Years ago I was keen on making some sort of electric generator, most easily with a thermoelectric chip, because that was the only way to make a stand-alone, self-sustaining device. After Arata and Rossi demonstrated gas loading nanoparticle devices I saw no need for this. For the purposes of a demonstration, a stand-alone device that produces only heat is as good as one that produces heat and electricity. Naturally, you need electricity for practical applications, but that can come later. - Jed
