non destructive is one hypothesis. regenerative is another. craters have been observed, transmutation too... maybe the destruction regenerate the production instead of killing it.
Maybe is a kind of controlled chaos/imperfection the source of LENR, like it is for some kind of superconduction, for laser existence, for semiconduction...
