H + 62Ni => 63Cu + 6.122 MeV

When you looked at the beta decay of 63Ni, you forgot the energy from the
addition of the proton. This energy has to be carried by something.

Hmmm ... burp ... how about a loan, Robin? Isn't this where Alice makes her
quantum deal at the Heisenberg bank ...?

Unlike the situation with a neutron ... (if one is looking for a distasteful
rationalization) - energy must be supplied to overcome the Coulomb barrier
... even with partial screening provided by the tight electron. So if the
initial price (of Alice's Restaurant) due to the tight "bond" market was
$8.8 million and she and her electron partner put in equity of $2.7 million
to get them into the back door; then the deal closes fast and she repays
strong-force agent with quick profits of $6.1 million on completion, with
about $20k as interest :)

        Walk right in, it's around the back
        Just a half a mile from the railroad track
        You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant

Or is that a different Alice, Toto?

Oops, were not in Oz anymore...
