Although if someone managed to run both, I do not see why the voltmeter would not catch this. I am certain that an expensive industrial watt meter will catch this or any other waveform. That's what a watt meter is for: catching errors and problems with electricity, to prevent equipment damage, fires and electrocution. - Jed
