Doesn't a formal definition of intelligence risk placing unwarranted bounds
upon a complex, multifaceted phenomenon, effectively reducing it to a set
of tasks a computer can do?  It seems to me that this runs the risk of
assuming the answer when trying to investigate the question of whether
artificial intelligence is possible.
