Hard to know what is local opinion here. we felt shocked by Mass Destruction Weapons theater . The way Iraq evolved did not surprised us. Abu Ghraib remind us much (anyway I know it is normal as Stanford Prison Experiment shows). We have hope, because some irrational love (because of heroic Massoud, killed 9/9/01), that Afghanistan will get out of terror, but we observed that between what Manning denounces, what Blackwater did, what friend of mine working there observed, that working wit US (or israeli - same education) is impossible, and occupation is hopeless. Moreover Sarkozy force the French unit to behave like US, to avoid losses, increasing the losses thus. (There was a joke during yugoslavian war. US with satellites know where are the tanks, the barracks, the units... To know who is inside, ask the French. Another fact is that it seems there are more French military married with local than dead in operation).
We see the victory in libya, and then the total conundrum with terrorism which flooded toward Mali (which is a local concern, like Israel,Mexico, or Liberia is in US). we see there is no hope in battling. Mali seems not too bad, because we were working with local units (there was horror there but done by locals, so...), but we expect it to turn bad. I don't seriously think Assad did not use chemicals... was it ordered by him, or decided by desperate military ? was it Saudi units bombing siha population, or christian minorities ? probably not... not important. There is a genocide in preparation funded by the saudi. Iran try to have the siha population, but internally they start to dissent because it is expensive and deadly (even the Iranian think it is desperate and too expensive). Syria is planned to be a symmetric of initially imagined Iran, a sunni islamic theocracy, with sunni/wahabi at power... in fact it will be a symmetric of Iraq, with permanent civil war, foreign occupation, genocide, ethnic cleansing at best. I see that recently france24 and france-info start to show the danger of saudi invasion, while continueing the human-rightist propaganda against Assad the butcher... note that those media are not media of the government, but media of an oligarchy of intellectual in France... note what 21st centy waves says: http://21stcenturywaves.com/2013/09/02/syria-reveals-that-the-1960s-style-critical-state-is-imminent/ Syria Reveals that the 1960s-style “Critical State” is Imminent<http://21stcenturywaves.com/2013/09/02/syria-reveals-that-the-1960s-style-critical-state-is-imminent/> ... A popular theme is emerging that sees parallels between the current crisis and the summer of 1914 which quickly led to World War I. For example, in “Obama is Playing With Fire in Syria” (8/30/31,*CounterPunch*) Rob Prince and Ibrahim Kazarooni of the University of Denver’s Korbel School of International Studies see real dangers: ... 2013/9/3 a.ashfield <[email protected]> > re Alain > Sepeda<http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]&q=from:%22Alain+Sepeda%22> > Tue, > 03 Sep 2013 09:06:49 > -0700<http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]&q=date:20130903> > Alain, > So why is France gung-ho to bomb Syria?
