Actually, there are plans to do this now, with conventional energy. I expect cold fusion will make it easier and more cost effective. I agree with Axil's other points. These are descriptions of how things may turn out in the more distant future. In my initial message I was discussing energy sector employment in the near future, within 10 to 20 years after the introduction of cold fusion. I cannot judge whether cold fusion will reduce overall employment, in sectors outside of today's energy sector. I guess it will, but I do not know enough about economics to judge. I think that computers and robots are likely to reduce employment more than cold fusion.
