To simulate your imagination, if pions can be created externally by strong
magnetic fields, then among the types of nuclear reactions that this meson
can make possible are as follows.

Since a Pion can convert protons to neutrons and neutrons to protons. A
proton can enter a nucleus after it has been converted to a neutron.

A neutron in a nucleus can be converted to a proton by an externally
created pion in a transmutation process.

A proton-proton fusion into deuterium can occur when an externally created
pion transforms a proton into a neutron.

Pions can induce fission in high Z elements.
