The vote was a close one. There are people there with strong opinions about what is science and what is not. These opinions obscure their objectivity with regard to questions about what is noteworthy. I pointed out that the conference is relevant to and would be known by anyone with more than a passing interest in cold fusion, even if cold fusion proved to be bunk. I vaguely recall someone coming back with a self-satisfied reply. Over time I've come to learn that a person's ability to come back with a quick retort has little to do with their level of objectivity or understanding of a matter. Eric
