Erratum: It is not Bussard's scaling law that this demonstrated, but rather the basic principle of the polywell which is its non-Maxwellian distribution.
Everyone has been awaiting the results of the Navy funded research on the WB8* which is about the scaling law, and I jumped the gun thinking that was what this paper reported. Its been a _very_ long wait for those scaling law tests to be published. Apparently they ran into a problem in the startup dynamics caused them to back off and do some smaller scale tests to resolve those before the next campaign to test the WB8*.
