To quote one of the last slides: "This is conventionally explained as a pinch effect [i.e., an effect due to an accelerating voltage]. However, our calculation indicates that the maximum pinch voltage is less than 100 Volts." The problem would seem to be a simple one, then. He may have introduced an error in his calculation of the voltage. Eric
