Regarding this and the emails that follow -- very interesting. It seems that there's a whole slew of possible neutron stripping reactions available, with different characteristics. With the right combinations, you can keep the energy levels pretty manageable (or do the opposite, if you like). On a slight tangent, I'm reminded of the Pap engine. Can you think of any neutron stripping reactions involving noble gasses? (One I can already anticipate: deuterium + a noble gas.) Eric
