i have a record player hooked up to my soundcard's line in, and the volume is
waaaay too low. i have to crank all my mixer/dsp settings to hear something
at a decent volume.
now, i can use the soundcard's mic, and i *think* it'll be louder. i think
line in is for large signal input, and mic is for small signal input.
but i'm on shaky ground. is there an engineer or audiophile on the list who
can tell me whether all this is correct or not?
