Ok, that helps.  :)  Now, what was the error that you got when you
ran 'startx'?  (You can capture it to a text file by running:

  startx 2&1> startx-output.txt

...if you're using BASH.  That combines the error output and normal output
and throws it into a new file called 'startx-output.txt')
