Sorry, had the email for the list wrong on my last email You are completely right, your advice set my country code correctly. It was my own "autocreate=ap" line that it didn't like. That was left over from some testing I was doing a while back, I guess I never completely cleaned up.
So now I have the country code set to 840, verified by running "sysctl -a | grep country", I get returned country code 840 for ath0. My next question is that the list of TX-Power options has not changed.
