i am using a Huawei E220 usb umts/gprs/edge/hsdpa device with my laptop,
but it is also working with my Wrap Board with USB.
that's the one I was thinking about!

The Device is sold in Germany under different Names and you can get it
for ~90 Euros.
For newer Kernels, i think 2.6.20+, it works out of the box.
