Well I'm not exactly sure about this but from what I can deduct from my voyage setup is this: 1- First I'm assuming that 'remountro' only locks the root mount "/".All the other mounts found when running the command df seem to stay writable. 2-Run the command lsof | more.It's a bit of a pain to go through but what you're looking for is a number followed by the letter 'u' or 'w' in the FD column, followed by 'REG' in the TYPE column with a path leading to a file NOT included in one of the mounts found in df in the NAME column. Here's an example: COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAMEminiserv. 4366 root 2w REG 3,1 105 1019 /var/webmin/miniserv.error In my case only webmin has such an entry, and it's the only program I've used that's given me problems.
