Uffe: I've got an A1200 with a blizzard 060 and a blizzard scsi and 32MB
fastram. I've spent a fair bit of money over the years adding serious software
like ImageFX,Aladdin, turboprint,Wordworth 7 and the magnificent Netconnect 2 for
Internet access. My workbench and Voyager both run on Pal Hires overscan laced
(WB 64 cols, V 256) through an external scandoubler/flickerfixer to a Gateway
15" monitor. Now while i'd dearly love a graphics card to get around the dreaded
chipmem problem, i'm quite happy to wait for V3 with it's integration with
FastBlit. I'm keying this message on a Gateway2000 P5-120 (work's boring today
:) ) and I have to be honest, my so called obsolete 1200 feels a lot more
responsive than this PC.

I don't feel "poor" and I WILL spend cash to upgrade (to the NG) but for me to
go GFX card enabled, I would have to 1) tower up and 2) either go a) zorro/gfx
or b) blizzardppc/bvision or c) ateo.

All these options are very costly and thus do not make sense with NG at the most
2 years away (hopefully sooner!). And, unlike the wintel crowd, i'm not stupid
enough to keep throwing good cash after bad just because the latest game creaks
a bit on my current setup. (My N64 fills the 3D gaming experience void very
nicely thankyou and it didn't cost me a 4 figure sum ha ha.)

Amiga users by nature IMHO are optimizers. They want the utmost performance out
of the least hardware. The OS has made the long termers think this way and
thanks to people like Olli my amiga still gives me a warm glow even if it sucks
for realtime 3D. And yes, V is very stable on my system (except when Mr. chipmem
comes knocking!)

I'm not a "poor" amiga user. I'm a lean, mean surfin' machine and it will never
cost me the earth. :) I'm (em)powered by amiga and if the NG architecture adds
kickass 3D while still maintining the ethos of lean and clean then Olli will be
there with another V I have no doubt. :)
