How much info is given out depend somewhat on your tcpip program. I use
Miami and have the filters set to reject that type of query. This is the
log of consumer.net attempt to check my machine:

13.05.99 08:06:13 Access from host 209.207.228.48 to port tcp/80 rejected.
13.05.99 08:06:14 Access from host 209.207.228.48 to port tcp/80 rejected.

13.05.99 08:09:29 Access from host 209.207.228.48 to port tcp/80 rejected.
13.05.99 08:09:30 Access from host 209.207.228.48 to port tcp/80 rejected.

Some info is given out, perhaps by Voyager or Miami. It gave out my email
address under FTP but not under email and it revealed what browser and OS
I'm using. The last two would be given by Voyager. All in all, not too bad.
Certainly better than using a Pentium III. With that technology they can
even describe to you the tattoo on your wife's butt.
