Yes, why don't you let the brats die. Well, don't be ridiculous, Dirk, it
doesn't suit you.

I would be amazed if I haven't mentioned it in this forum before, but I
will do so again for you. Yes, hardware for the Amiga is definitely quite
expensive compared to other platforms, but still compared to a lot of other
stuff it isn't that expensive. Meaning with this, that most people earn a
lot more money every single month than the piece of hardware costs (I know
this naturally isn't the same as being able to afford it every month).

You actually don't have to save very much every day/week/month to get
enough money within shortly for new hardware or software. It has always
been a choice of priorities, and it is naturally your choice how you make
your priorities. Yes, one way to save is to let your kids starve to death,
but apparently you wont do that. Then you have to find another way to do
it. Buy a CD less once in a while, drink water instead of Coke, and so
forth, there are millions of ways you can save a bit here and a bit there.
The problem is to keep the priorities straight. When you have saved a
total of, e.g., DM 100, you shall say to yourself "wow, DM 100, then I only
need whatever more to get what I want" and keep your priorities straight
instead of mixing them up and saying "wow, DM 100, then I only... well,
let me do this or that instead right now".

And don't tell me I don't know. I have been a student for years, and yet
have been able to spend fortunes on hardware and software for my Amiga.
And I have been able to do that by saving a bit here and saving a bit
there. And I certainly hope nurses are better paid in Germany than
students in Denmark, because with what we get paid we are not expected
to live, just survive.

If we are talking browsers, then you can use ALynx. I suppose it even
works on an unexpanded A500.

And if not suitable software exists, then... well, I guess you have to
live without.

I should have know that. Every two months somebody starts this discussion,
and as soon as I open my mouth and voice my opinion this German dude tells
us how his kids have to starve just so he can play with his Amiga.
