No matter what I change, I can't seem to get V to read the 'contents' of the file. It
reads the "name" of the file as stored in cache (it will say something like "ram disk
slash clipboards slash cache vviewtemp01"), but that's it. So it does execute the say
command, but it seems to ignore the -x flag to actually read the file's contents
instead of the name. Do either of you have any other odd settings in V aside from the
defaults, or a particular plugin I may not?

say from file

correction: I have this set to NO (unchecked)

PIPE made no difference. But here's something that did: Not 'cleaning up'
the downloads window. The file is narrated properly the first time, but if
you leave its record in the download window, it doesn't work on second or
successive attempts.
