Hi All,
Just a note to tell you that there really is an Amiga-centric ISP
in the U.S.A. That is AmigaOnLine (amigaonline.net).
Why am I doing their advertizing, for them, without remuneration?
I believe it is important that we (Amigans) have available, to us,
ISP's who do not say, "Okay, I understand. Now which version of MS
Windows are you running?" when you are asking them a question concern-
ing the Internet and something you need to know, which concerns your
hookup. Their reply question is asking you about your front end (the
computer you are using to connect) and nothing pertaining to the
Internet. We need an ISP who understands the Internet as well as
Amiga's. That is what I found in amigaonline.net.
I have been a subscriber for a number of months and almost dropped
them, when I noticed I was not being billed and my service was, some-
times shoddy (both because of the server and because they were not
answering any of my phone messages or E-Mails. Now, this really made
me feel depressed because I so looked forward to making them my primary
ISP.
Well, things are changing for the better. For one, I have gotten
one E-Mail response, just as I was about to quit them, telling me that
because of internal problems and other situations, they were not able
to get back to me. Two, I saw an article and ad in Amigactive
Magazine. Three, I received a call, from them, apologizing for their
not returning my messages and calls and that they will be billing me
for the time past and present, and that they still want to be there
for us Amigans.
For those of you who do not know of AmigaOnLine, they are an ISP
created through the retailer, Anti-Gravity Products. They are to come
out with the Boxer, an Amiga clone/1200-4000-type tower, This has
been under development for several years, and mentioned in past maga-
zines, as Amazing Computing for the Commodore Amiga Personal Computer,
otherwise known as Amazing Amiga.
Instead of my "flapping my gums" anymore, either call them at (310)
399-8785 or (877) AMIGA-77. You can also find them on the Web at
www.antigravity.com or www.amigaonline.net. I think you will be quite
pleased that you did call them.
I ask only two things of you. First, mention, to them that I told
you to contact them. Second, please, tell me your impressions of
them, after you contacted them.
'til next time.
Julian.
