Hi All, Again,

Thought I would add one or two things. Just in case any of you
thought, by what I had written, that you should totally abandon which-
ever ISP you are currently using, in favor of AmigaOnLine, I apologize.

I have always believed that everyone should have at least one pri-
mary ISP and one backup ISP (preferably, at least one, is a free one).
Why? Simply put, if one breaks down or the telephone lines get messed
up, you can still, usually gain access on the Internet through, at
least one ISP. Yes, I am speaking of more than one ISP, not more than
one telephone line, for you, or more than one phone number, to call
into, to hookup through the ISP.

Also, I believe in giving an ISP a test period, to determine how
reliable it is. Examples: When you call, by voice, is there someone
there who can answer your questions? When you write an inquiry, is
there someone there who can answer it? When they do answer you ques-
tions, do they appear to know what they know of what they are speaking?
Do they have a grasp on reality, that there are varied "front-end"
systems (MS Windows/Intel, mainframe, mini, Amiga, Macintosh, unary),
and can they distinguish between a question relating to the "front
end" and one that references unary? Are they "down" a lot, or is it
infrequent? Can they handle the type of load you my generate?

When you can have all the above handled, properly, by one ISP, and,
especially, if that ISP is not afraid of the Amiga, then, that should
be your primary ISP. This process is somewhat expensive, if you must
do it, by yourself; and, many times, you must. It is somewhat expen-
sive because it can take about one year to make your determination.
Is it worth it? You bet!

At this point, I am still in the testing phase, with respect to
AmigaOnLine. When I finish my determination, I will let everyone
know. In the meantime, I can tell you that they do work and they do,
now, get back to you, or else, I would not be using my address, with
them, as part of my signature lines.

Oh, lest I forget. The people, at AmigaOnLine, also, can help you,
if you are using a Mac, a unary type of computer (Linux, Unix, etc.),
or an MS Windows/NT/Intel computer, or an IBM/Warp/OS2 computer. This
way, you can be easily hooked up, to them, no matter what type of
computer you use. They will also give you info, even if you do not
wish to sign up with them -- this I know, from personal experience.

   Thanks, again, for listening.

   'til next time.

                                         Julian.
