Being un untrusting so-and-so for installer scripts, I checked the
versions of the files supplied.  I don't know if it's related to the
problems seen, but several of the MUI classes supplied were *ancient*
compared to what I already had. I did not install over *any* files
other than the vapor toolkit.library. Even the image decoders seem to
be identical except for a bumped version number.

I wonder if maybe Zapek may have accidentally built an archive from
the wrong directory of stuff?


As for stack, it *definitely* helped increasing the stack. It was
still less stable than V3.3.122, though. From the readme, there
appears to be insufficient bugfixes to warrant using this less stable
(for me) version.
