This made no difference in the behavior with either client, it continues to work with the NetGear client and to fail with the 2.1.7 client. To hopefully make further progress I have saved logs from both sides of the problem: http://home.comcast.net/~ddurgee/vpn_test.zip This zip contains the iked.log and ipsec.log from the 2.1.7 client and the vpn_test.log contains the VPN log from the FVS328 router when attempting to negotiate and use the tunnel. As in previous tests, I use the GUI to initiate the tunnel. After this is done I opened a command window and issued a ping 192.168.35.1 which gets no response from the remote side.
