Qt is maintained here: http://qt-project.org/

Beware, I installed the 5.x branch and Shrew did not like it at all (I'm running OSX 10.8.4). I last upgraded in April to 4.7.1. The new 4.8 branch may work, I'd be curious if anyone gives it a whirl. Otherwise, go to the archives from the download page for earlier versions.

Tun/Tap driver is also required, http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/

I'd really like to see a formal info page and link to the OSX version on the Shrew site. I realize it's considered alpha quality, but I've been using it for several years without serious issue. As long as users are properly forewarned that it's unsupported as yet, I don't think it'll be a problem (easy for me to say).

With neither of the 2 packages noted below, Shrew crashes on 10.7 in the same

I am little confused with the OSX requirements.

I see this post for Matthew

https://lists.shrew.net/pipermail/vpn-help/2013-April/014278.html

which says QT is built in, however on a 10.6 machine installing the test
version noted, just crashes when run.

Also this link doesn't seem to work

http://get.qt.nokia.com/qt/source/qt-mac-opensource-4.7.1.dmg

nor does anything at http://get.qt.nokia.com

Is the Tun/Tap driver required? Installing it on the same 10.6 machine does
not stop Shrew from crashing. I'll try again on a 10.7 machine I have at
hand
shortly.

Hi can someone provide instructions for uninstalling Shrew on OSX.
Since
installing this software (or its dependencies, QT or TunTap) my OSX
internal
IPSec VPN software no longer works.

I followed the procedures below to install the software.

There are two pre-requisites before running the native install package
...
1) Install the LGPL Qt Framework for Mac OSX ...

http://get.qt.nokia.com/qt/source/qt-mac-opensource-4.7.1.dmg

2) Install the current release of the TUN/TAP driver for Mac OSX ...

http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/download.xhtml

You can then proceed to install the Shrew Soft VPN client ...
www.shrew.net/download/vpn/vpn-client-install.dmg

I have since removed tun tap with the following instructions.

I want to remove the software from my computer. How do I do that?

Unfortunately, Apple's installer packages do not provide a way to remove
software. Therefore, you will need to delete the files manually. Just
remove
the following directories (you need to do this with Administrator
privileges):

        o /Library/Extensions/tap.kext
        o /Library/Extensions/tun.kext
        o /Library/StartupItems/tap
        o /Library/StartupItems/tun
That's it!

Thanks,
Damian.
