Dear Jim, dear all,
if I remember correctly, under Windows XP, the Access Manager Window
also minimized to the systray after successfully establishing the VPN
connection.
That's why I was asking.
Kind regards,
Gerd

Betreff: RE: [vpn-help] Version 2.2.2 does not minimize into systray
after successful connect (Windows 7)
Gerd – I believe that is the expected behavior – it is only the
connection itself that minimizes after success; the Access Manager
window stays in view until minimized or closed.
Am I mis-understanding?

Dear Jim, dear all,
I cannot tick the 3rd option in VPN connect ("Automatically reconnect
to server") because for VPN authentication, a hardware token is used
which generates a one-time passcode on each attempt to connect to the
VPN. But even with that option ticked, the VPN Access Manager Window
does not minimize to the systray upon successful connect.
What am I doing wrong?
Kind regards,
Gerd

I have the window style for both Access Manager and VPN Connect to
“Visible in System Tray only,” and all three options under VPN Connect
checked.
· Launch VPN access manager
· Connect to VPN profile <authenticate>
· Connection succeeds and minimizes to system tray
· VPN Access Manager window stays open in foreground until I
close it, with no icon in taskbar; if minimized it also goes to system
tray only
It has behaved this way for as long as I can remember, but I never did
use Shrew client on Windows XP. The rush to Shrew was when Cisco
didn’t have a 64-bit VPN client during the early days of Windows 7.

Hello Alexis, hello all,
"Window Style" is already set to "Visible in System Tray only". But
that does not help either.
Kind regards,
Gerd

You have may also change the "Window Style" (in Access Manager
Preferences)

Hello all,
I have checked "Minimize when connection succeeds" for my VPN
connection in VPN Access Manager. However, the connection window
still appears in the taskbar after successful connection. I can
remember that under Windows XP, there was no taskbar entry once the
connection was successful.
Is there a way to establish the same behavior under Windows 7, too?
(As apparently nobody has noticed that yet, I am assuming that I am
missing something.)
Thank you very much and kind regards,
Gerd
