Kinda sounds to me like the ports that are used during the VPN tunnel connection are getting hung up on your modem/router and/or your PC. When it happens, you can try restarting the two services on your PC and then attempt a VPN connection..... If that don't work, restart your modem/router and attempt VPN connection....if it works then....I would say the ports are getting hung up when the connection is dropped.

Hi Everyone, I've been having some problems with my VPN connection on and off for a couple months. Sometimes my connection is solid and I'm able to stay connected for a full day without interruption. That doesn't happen often though. Other times I'll be working fine and then all of a sudden my connection is dropped. Once it's dropped I usually can't regain access to my remote drives, even though sometimes my VPN can still be re-connected. When this happens I sign into my VPN, it says it's connected, but when I go to my remote drives, it shows as unavailable. When I go back to the VPN screen, it still shows it's connected for a few more minutes and then finally will disconnect itself. Typically the message I get is "Gateway is not responding". Usually the fix for this is to restart my modem, which is an Arris TG3482G. I'll then have to re-start my computer, and I'm usually good to go again. This doesn't always work, and it's a bit frustrating to have to re-start everything so frequently. Has anyone else had anything similar go on and know how to fix it? My ISP hasn't been any help. Thanks, Kyle.
