Yes, it ist possible to forward X11 traffic from the vserver without running sshd on the vserver. You must either manually build a ssh tunnel from the vserver or direct the traffic via a "bind-mounted" unix domain socket to the master. And, of course, you must get the X11 authorization stuff correct.
