I thought I found that I had to use the File/Preference menu and then
exit
and restart vTcl <= 1.09 to get the geometry manager into effect. I was
working with place and pack. I haven't ever used grid.
But, no matter.
A quick look last night at the 1.010 preview that I have (I needed it to
work on the beginnings of this tutorial series) shows that the geometry
buttons
on the Main menu work now. It even seemed to allow mixing geometry modes
within one toplevel!
