Independent Presidential candidate Ralph Nader will be speaking at the University of Vermont on Tuesday, October 5 at 8pm in Ira Allen Chapel.

Joining him will be former Progressive
Party candidate for governor and lieutenant governor, Anthony Pollina, Vermont Green Party candidate for Attorney General, Jimmy Leas, and Vermont Coordinator for Nader/Camejo 2004, Ashley Smith.

Harvard Medical School professor, David Himmelstein, will also speak. He is the co-founder of Physicians for a National Health Program, one of the main advocacy groups for universal healthcare.

Admission at the door will be $5 for students and $10 for other members of the campus and broader community.

Mr. Nader –the only remaining anti-war candidate-will speak about his campaign and offer a question/answer session to those attending the speech. A book signing for his book, Crashing the Party, will be held after the speech.

The speech is part of Mr. Nader’s tour throughout New England over the next week and a half. He is campaigning in all 50 states to address the issues that the George Bush and John Kerry will leave out of the national debate.

Nader wants to bring the troops home from Iraq, end the Patriot Act, guarantee healthcare for all Americans, create a living wage, win same-sex marriage rights, and end the “War on Drugs.”
