yes, I've seen the other OS option in the BIOS before - actually I think it's set to Other already.
I'll try the ' vyatta pci=biosirq' ... it makes sense to me - way back when, I was told to enable all ports that I turned off. Especially the serial ports - if I remember right, it was b/c vyatta probes the ports (hardware wise) even though they are off. I might be wrong, but that's my impression.
