If that doesn't work, try casting out about 90-100ft and....just kidding!  I
just got some good stock info and can't calm down!  Seriously though(??), I
drop my rod tip once the fly is delivered and keep it low to the water.  You
are much more sensitive to what is going on at the flies end.  You can set
the hook much, much better.  When you feel, or see the twitch of line, the
moment you lift the rod tip you are setting the hook.  With a high rod tip,
there is slack line between the rod tip and the water.  It is difficult to
set the hook from this position; you simply pick up slack rather than
setting the hook when you move the rod tip and your line of sight (looking
down the line towards the business end is poor)There may be exceptions where
you do not want to do this and others can present that.  Jere
