Fished the mid-morning ebb on saturday with three friends. The conditions
were foggy with bright sun breaking through occasionally during a change
from 12.7 to 5.5'. Not exactly the best conditions for the shrimpy-type
flies in the box. Rick landed a nice silver almost immediately (in the fog
on the polar charlie). Earl picked one up a bit later on another euphasid
tie. I was switching back and forth (depending on the light) between the
polar charlie and a #10 green and white charlie (a baitfish tie). I hooked
and lost my only silver on the second jump. The fog burned off completely
and we were all off the water by 11:30am. All in all, it was very slow,
three fish for four anglers in three hours. The fish were in the two pound
range, about right for this time of year.
