Hi Gang,
Fairly slow day down at Doc's this afternoon. Lots of schools showing
themselves- only a few biters. Fish appeared to just be traveling through
and not feeding. Managed 3 fish- 2 were small feeder Blackmouth of roughly
17" and a small Silver maybe 15" at best. Started with an Amphipod pattern-
no hits. Switched to a small Candlefish tube fly- one hit. Tied on a small
(size 8) Pink/White Marabou Humpy and had 7 good hard hits of which 3 caught.
Saw Wes in the parking lot. Said he caught a 13" Cutt on a streamer
pattern. He headed way down to Fosdick. Don't know how he finished out the
day. As usual, got my exercise chasing in schools up and down the beach-
must have ran a good 2 miles with the waders on! All in all, very, very
frustrating day. Casting right in the middle of big schools of fish, ony a
few takers.
Probably my last post on Doc's. I am outta here next week on a 6 month
cruise to the Arabian Gulf. Have a few brief stops in Australia and New
Caledonia. Hope to keep you all posted on the great "down under "fishing.
Tight Lines,
Spey
