Sorry about the late report, but I had no computer access from Concrete.
I spent most of my week off(Friday-Friday) on the Skagit/Sauk last week.
(yes, I am a stubborn man).
Fishing continues to be the slowest I have ever experienced for the month of
April. I considered myself very lucky to have gone two for three in 7 days
of hard fishing. All fish were hooked early in the week, before the rains
started. They were also hooked early or late in the day, before & after
bright sun was on the water.
On the Sauk, water levels steadily increased, and clouded, on a daily basis
as the snow melt increased. The Skagit fluctuated wildly with variations in
releases from Ross Dam and the Baker River.
Thursday's rain had me dodging drifting trees in cloudy water by Friday
morning, so I bagged it and spent the weekend at Ocean Shores, camping.
