I first fished Ebey Lake in 1947 and that time their was a gate about 2 miles
from the lake and an old hermit and a big male German Shepherd lived by the
gate in a old shack. The German Shepherd would not only attack on command
but also had very amorous feeling towards anyone who talked to the old man.
If you were luckily the old man would give you the key to the gate and you
could go to the lake if you could get the 120 LB German Shepherd off you. At
that time their were some really big fish in that mill pond. My point is
that knowing the area and the people in the area a full time caretaker is the
only way you would ever have a really good fishery again. It would make a
great pay lake. Yes, we did fly fish in 1947 too.
