Stuck rod

Any suggestions on how to get a stuck rod apart?  After fishing today I
wasn't able to get the lower two sections of my spey rod apart.  I used a
little nose grease to lube it before I but it together and I've never had
one stick before.  I tried a trick I saw on a video, put the rod behind your
knees and holding on either side on the joint you push your knees apart. No
luck.  Tried holding the ferrules under warm water to swell it, no luck.
Any ideas?
