Fished Margaret yesterday morning from 6am to 7:45am. Not the best I've seen there, but not bad. When the wind is down I throw out drys as there is pretty decent activity on the surface. When the wind riff'ed the water went to the other rod which had on it a Stillwater line. After trying the old tried and trues with limited success settled on a dragon nymph (yes the drunk red-eyed one) and nailed fish with every cast. Three very short strips and then a 2 second pause. Would have stayed longer but work and nature were calling.

For the most part, these guys were taking in the whole fly. Location? Southeast corner of the lake. The best part came on the second fish. Fifteen feet in front of me and a little to the left was a trout floating belly-up, in all probability a C&R casualty form the evening before. As I was reaching for my net a there was a loud WOSH and SLAP (sp?) as a bald eagle lifted the fish out of the water for breakfast. Very cool.

Fine early morning.
