Had a chance to fish Amber Lake yesterday for just a couple of hours. This was my first visit of the year and had heard that the fish were a lot smaller then normal so was anxious to find out for myself. The wind was blowing quite hard and the fish for the most part had lockjaw. This is very unusual for Amber. Average days yield at least a dozen fish, especially in the Spring. I tied into 3 fish in two hours. Lost one right away, long lined released a nice 15 incher at about 20 feet and landed a fat and healthy 15-16 incher. I had a couple of strikes but that was about it. I only saw two other fish caught in the time I was there. I will try to get back out there a few more times in the next week or so and try to get a more accurate report about whats going on.
