Sorry folks, I tried to send this to Dan's E-mail address, twice without
success. Hope you don't feel I am "cluttering" the board

Dan:
I guide in the Hamilton area, but won't be there until June 20 (I teach
school in Bellingham, and guide during the summers). I will try to help you
with your questions:
1. Lodges: I run a lot of trips out of Triple Creek Lodge (W. Fork
Bitterroot). A 4 star, high end lodge I can recommend without reservation.
Another good bet is Blackbirds, a combination lodge/shop/outfitter. See
websites below. Hamilton also has a good selection of hotels and motels.
2. Spots to fish: The Bitterroot will likely be in spring run-off
conditions during the time you are there. The water most likely to be
fishable will be the West Fork, above Darby. The best water this early in
the season will undoubtedly be Rock Creek. The salmonflies should be
rocking there! The outfitters listed below can hook you up with a guide for
that water.
3. Guides: Listed below are the outfitters I work for in this area. I
list them alphabetically because you cannot go wrong with any of them:
Bitterroot Anglers: Andy Carlson's shop, Bitterroot Angler, is in
Stevensville, North of Hamilton. I don't have his number here at work.
Blackbirds: http://www.worldwidefishing.com/b243.htm
<http://www.worldwidefishing.com/b243.htm> Mark runs a lodge/flyshop on
the banks of the Bitterroot.
Flyfishing always: Rick Thomas and John Foust can also hook you up with
Triple Creek. See website: http://www.cybernet1.com/flyfishingalways/

Hope this helps. Feel free to drop my name with any of these folks.
Have a great trip.

My fishing partner and I are taking our wives to the Dillon, Hamilton, Ennis
area on the 6th of June thru 11 June. We need some advice about some
fishing lodges, good spots to fish and guides. Any help will be
appreciated.
We arrive Dillon the afternoon of June 6 to meet the other couple coming up
from a return trip to Denver.
