I am a deep, deep lurker from Lakewood, Colorado. Good trout fishing here.
However:
I also love to fish the salt, my major experience having been on the
Texas & Florida Gulf coasts.
We are planning to visit friends in Seattle in, probably, late
September and also do some tourist-type sightseeing based, again
probably, in Poulsbo.
I would appreciate information on any beach/bank/pier/jetty fishing
locations in the general area of Poulsbo (say within 30 - 40 miles).
As might be concluded, I usually do not like fishing from a boat,
just as a personal non-linearity, and the usual guide books seem to
assume that no other type of angling exists. Odd.
Fishing the Gulf, BTW, was interesting. There is *always* a 20 knot
breeze in your face, and the fish are at least 40 yards away. Tough
to fly cast, for me, at least. So, I used <gasp> spinning gear and
presented the fly or flies using either floats (best) or weights
similar to Slinkies, depending on the depth of presentation wanted. I
assume that the same situation holds on the Hood Canal or the Strait
of Juan de Fuca or...
