I fished Peterhope Lake by Merritt last weekend and had good luck with Tom Thumbs as a
searching/attractor pattern.

The fish were keying on migrating damsels and while that was the primary food, they
were short-striking and slapping at damsel imitations. It wasn't until I put on a Tom
Thumb that they really started taking the fly.

I also got to fish a small mayfly hatch that for a brief period of about 15 minutes
was "a fish a cast". They liked my chopaka may.

The travelling sedges hadn't really started yet. Some of the bigger sedges were up,
but only one or two. I did reasonably good the last evening there on a size 12 green
bodied elk hair caddis.
