Well we made it back from seeing the kin folk in MT. I didn't get much
fishing in (2 short trips) but did view a lot of water. Man some of the
rivers and creeks are low around the Kalispell region. I read in the
Spokesman Review that some of the guide services are stopping all their trips
after this last week. What water is left is too warm and the fish are over
stressed.

I went over to the Thompson River yesterday and it barely had enough water
moving in it to constitute a stream. The Clarkfork looked low but still had
plenty of water. The St. Regis was down but still okay. The best looking
streams occured up in the West Glacier area. MacDonald Creek was wonderful
and provided the best fishing for wild cutts.

The most significant event of the trip was no fewer then 7 fires had started
in a 30 mile stretch of road since we went through there on Friday. These
weren't getting much attention due to the lack of manpower even though a
couple of them were really starting to grow. I didn't see any airplane or
helicopter drops either.
