Fished this Cascade jewel on 8/8. It's a short, steep ( in places ) hike to
the lake over a typical "fisherman's trail" complete with brush, downed
trees, roots, mud holes, and boulders. It was fun trying to identify the
variety of mountain flora and fauna while we were catching our breath and
taking a water break. We each caught and released several beautifully marked
mountain cutthroat. Even a broken rod tip repaired with surgical tape from a
first aid kit didn't deter my fishing partner who still managed to out-fish
me. Turck's Tarantula, a foam carpenter ant, and various nymphs were the
flies of choice. Bob Martin
